The Copenhagen taxi rate was officially set on 1 décembre 2023. Taxi prices may be negotiated freely in Denmark. We recommend that you negotiate a fixed price on the basis of our calculation before you start your journey. In this case, the agreed fare should be entered in the taximeter before departure. The taximeter must remain switched on during the journey. Taxi companies must disclose their respective standard fare in the taxi.

How the fare is made up under the Copenhagen taxi rate:

The taxi tariff of Kopenhagen is organized by time of day and week. From Monday to Friday between 4:00 and 20:00, daytime rates apply. During these hours, there is a base fare of 39.00 DKK, which is charged as soon as you start your trip. After the base fare, each additional kilometer costs 11.00 DKK. If the taxi is waiting, for example in traffic or while stationary, a waiting time rate of 600.00 DKK per hour is charged.

Nighttime rates are in effect from Monday to Friday between 20:00 and 4:00, as well as all day on Saturday and Sunday. For these periods, the base fare is 49.00 DKK, and every additional kilometer costs 14.70 DKK. The waiting time rate during these hours is 690.00 DKK per hour. The meter will automatically switch between day and night tariffs depending on the time and day.

Special charges apply when a taxi crosses a toll bridge. If the Oresund Bridge is crossed, a fee of 350.00 DKK is added for the return ticket. For the Great Belt Bridge (The Storebælt Bridge), the customer pays the daily crossing price plus an administration fee. These toll fees are in addition to the regular taxi fare and will be added to your final bill.

To summarize, your final fare will include the base fare, the cost per kilometer traveled, any waiting time fees, and any applicable toll bridge fees. This structure is designed to provide transparency for passengers using the taxi service in Kopenhagen.
